Demo import

The demo makes the site look like the Norio preview, with pages, posts, media, and menus in place. You can replace that content afterward.

Before you begin

  • Norio is the active theme.
  • Norio Core and One Click Demo Import are installed and active.
  • You have a few minutes, and you can leave the browser tab open.

How to import

Use either path. Both read the same package.

From the wizard

  1. Go to Appearance → Setup Wizard and open step 2.
  2. Click Import Demo on Home 01, Home 02, or Home 03.
  3. Wait until the card shows Imported.

From Import Demo Data

  1. Go to Appearance → Import Demo Data.
  2. Choose Home 01, Home 02, or Home 03 and start the import.
  3. Wait until One Click Demo Import reports that it has finished.

What the three homepages share

Home 01, Home 02, and Home 03 share one content package, so every homepage and inner page is imported together. Your choice only decides which homepage is the front page.

After the first import, switch the front page with Set as Homepage in the wizard, or under Settings → Reading.

The importer also:

  • Assigns the demo menus to Primary, bottom navigation, and the menu overlay.
  • Sets the Blog page as the posts page.
  • Sets permalinks to the post name structure and flushes rewrite rules.
  • Rewrites demo links so they point at your site.
  • Creates a Contact Form 7 form when that plugin is active.

After import

  1. Visit the front end and confirm the homepage you chose.
  2. If an admin notice asks you to regenerate thumbnails, install and run Regenerate Thumbnails once.
  3. Replace demo text and images with your own. Delete pages you will not use.
  4. If a project, service, or team URL returns a 404, go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes.

If the import fails

  1. Deactivate plugins other than Norio Core and One Click Demo Import, then import again.
  2. Import while the Norio parent theme is active. A child theme can block parts of the package.
  3. Raise the PHP memory limit and max execution time, then try again. See Requirements.
  4. If the layout is still off, open a ticket and attach a screenshot plus the error text from the importer.
